Do You Hear??

My family and I have been going to a wonderful church called
ELEVATION Church and this month to honor the Christmas season our
Pastor, Steven Furtick is doing a 3 week series.
It is called Do you Hear?
I thought it was rather appropriate to add it especially with the
hustle and bustle of the holiday season.

Shopping, office parties, family get together, FOOD, presents and OH LETS not forget the
FOOD!!!

For some it is all about what they are going to get under the tree or getting that certain someone the PERFECT gift.

This series hit home with me as it challenged me to STOP talking to God and start LISTENING to him. It seems all too often we go to GOD and ask him for this or that only to never really stop and listen to what he is asking of us. We expect him to answer our prayers and then get angry or upset when he doesn't answer them according to our will. See what I am learning is GOD does answer my prayers....sometimes what I thought as no response is in actuality my answer.....I never REALLY stopped to LISTEN to him tell me NO.

As Pastor pointed out in last weeks service, we as parents tell our children "no" all the time. We also tell them that the more they ask does not mean they shall receive. Why are we to expect that GOD our Father is any different.

During this holiday season my Husband and I have decided to slow down take a little more time to really talk to one another and listen to each other. Stress will damage any relationship....including your faith. Just STOP and LISTEN...who knows you might hear something you really would have missed otherwise.

If you are interested in hearing this wonderful series by Pastor Furtick check out his podcasts....they are awesome!!

Has Someone Touched your life......

In a way that you just didn't understand?

Recently my family as well has MANY MANY other lost a wonderful friend, Danny Kellas....and he will be missed greatly!

I recently received an email from my husband that summed up what Danny was to us...

People come into your life for a reason, a season or a lifetime.
When you know which one it is, you will know what to do for that
person...

When someone is in your life for a REASON, it is usually to meet a need
you
have expressed.
They have come to assist you through a difficulty, to provide you with
guidance and support,
to aid you physically, emotionally or spiritually.

They may seem like a Godsend and they are.
They are there for the reason you need them to be.

Then, without any wrongdoing on your part or at an inconvenient time,
this person will say or do something to bring the relationship to an end.

Sometimes they die. Sometimes they walk away.
Sometimes they act up and force you to take a stand.

What we must realize is that our need has been met, our desire fulfilled,
their work is done.
The prayer you sent up has been answered and now it is time to move on.

Some people come into your life for a SEASON, because your turn has come to
share, grow or learn.

They bring you an experience of peace or make you laugh.
They may teach you something you have never done.
They usually give you an unbelievable amount of joy.

Believe it. It is real. But only for a season.

LIFETIME relationships teach you lifetime lessons, things you must build
upon in order to
have a solid emotional foundation.

Your job is to accept the lesson, love the person and put what you have
learned to
use in all other relationships and areas of your life.

It is said that love is blind but friendship is clairvoyant.

Thank you for being a part of my life. . . . . . .

.. . .. . . . . whether you were a reason, a season or a lifetime..

NOW for my husband and I Danny was a Reason....but others he was a season or a lifetime. All I can say is no matter what the extent of time anyone spent with Danny they all said the same thing. He was an amazing person who touched there life in so many ways!

Danny is truly an Angel sent to us and now taken home to be with his LORD...thank you for all you have been to us and so many others..we love you and will miss you terribly!

That time of the year ALREADY??

I can't believe it is time for the holidays already! It seems like summer just began. Where has the time gone? I know that I have a big list of holiday projects I need to get started on.
I typically don't do handcrafted gifts for my family but the economic times being what they are that is exactly what me and my girls have decided to do!

My girls and I made a list of some really good things to give family members without breaking our budget.
Here is a list of what we came up with....please feel free to use any of them...=D

We all know how much teenagers like to frequent the movies...atleast in my house.
we decided to give prepaid movie passes to our local theater as part of their stocking stuffers....or if you have couch potoato and movie buff...how about a movie night gift basket. Fill it with microwave popcorn, a DVD and some popcorn toppings....oh and don't forget the little popcorn bags (you can get them at your local craft store).

Now for the ladies in your life..old or young..have you ever known a female that doesn't enjoy a day at the spa? Well why not give them the gift of relaxation. Again, another gift basket...the possibilities are endless with this so use your imagination.
You can purchase or make your own bath salts, candles and soaps.
Add body sponges and head pillows...or even a great novel.
You can also do a pedicure or manicure gift basket.

This is actually one of my favorites...and last year we gave it to my Brother in law. He was going thought a particularly difficult time and being a single dad with 2 boys he was sooo appreciative.
So this is what we did....we made a pizza basket! Now I know you are thinking pizza basket???
YES, I purchased a couple boxes of pizza crust and tons of non perishable toppings.
Pepperoni, pizza sauce, crushed red pepper flakes and anything I could think of that would be good on a pizza....again use your imagination.
It is a great way to get your family in the kitchen together.

Now you can always stick with tired and true.
Preserves, baked goods, homemade breads and peanut brittle.

The holidays are about love and togetherness...so don't think that if you make it that it won't be cherished. I promise some of the best gifts I have ever received were made by someone who took the time to put the themselves in it.

May you and your family be blessed this holiday season ♥

Getting Caught UP! YAY!

I am so proud of myself! I have a few outstanding orders to fill but I have finally managed to get in my sewing room and really finish up my orders! I have 2 left! It has been a rather crazy few months...with My daughter and grand baby moving home and then my little one being sick nonstop for the past few weeks. Things are slowly coming around to some kind of normalcy...whatever that may be.

I have been working on some new designs...but can't focus on them until the old ones are finished. I am just grateful that a couple of my customers granted me the opportunity to have some creative say in creating some "special" pieces for them. I hope they love them because I sure loved doing them! Thanks ladies!! :-)

Well with only 2 more simple items to complete I am off again to my sewing room...I think I might crank up the playlist and ignore the family for a few more hours...hopefully I can get them done tonight..it gives me something to shoot for! Wish me luck!

Preparing Your fabric before cutting

I came across this little tip and thought I would share it with you. Every time I purchase new fabric I take it directly to be washed....but when it comes out the raw edge of the fabric is just a mess of strings. Well now instead of washing immediately I take an extra step and serge the raw edge of my material before I wash....guess what..No more stringy mess!! It really does make a big difference.

Lazy Sunday

Well it is Sunday evening and I am heading to bed..but thought I would post about what my day entailed. NOTHING...yes, I said it NOTHING! It was GREAT! :-)

We went to a bonfire last night for a friends birthday and decided today we would do everything we wanted to..which involved watching the Football game...sleeping on the couch and just Vegging out! I seriously can't tell you the last time I have done that! The girls helped with dinner and now we are finishing up a movie. What a wonderful end to a not so hectic weekend!

Tomorrow off to the sewing room I go! I can't wait to create!

Chaos...my middle name!

My life has been a bit hectic lately. For those of you who don't know My oldest daughter had a my first grandbaby....and since the birth of Princess Adrienne, I THOUGHT my life would slow down! My daughter is married to a military man who was deployed a month ago...OH did I mention my gradbaby is only 2 months old. Well, anyway...my daughter decided to come home to stay until her hubby returns home. In the mean while I have no space for her and the baby. She has 3 younger siblings (all girls) sooooo my dear hubby and I decided to "build" her a room...in our garage. Now it's not as bad as it sounds..it is a fully functional room with a door heating/cooling and everything!!! WHEW! I am sooo happy it is complete. I am rather proud because we are by no means carpenters...but it actaully was a fun undertaking and me and my husband got to spend time alone..kinda :-)
Now that she has a place of her own I can get back to my work...right? WRONG!! But I am trying!

My first blog on Lil' Miss Mack

OK so here it is!! I am new at this whole blogging thing but I figured how hard can it be right?
Well actually I'm not that new....maybe a bit behind. LOL

I currently have another blog that I do for My ebay group...It's called Giggle Gab.
However, I have been talking about doing my own personal one and just hadn't gotten around to it.

So here goes nothing! =D

I love writing out my thoughts but after trying to set up this page my brain is completely fried! I realized that I have so much to learn about life, liberty and the pursuit HTML....
(actually I am getting pretty good at the HTML part....maybe??? I guess that remains to be seen)

adding links, creating banner adds and really promoting your business!!

So having said that this will be the first of many blogs and hopefully I will learn a thing or two along the way!! I sure hope so....cause let me tell you...WHEW...this was hard!! =D

OK...so one entry down...HOW MANY more to go????

MY RECENT DESIGNS

These are just a few of my favorite designs!!!
